Bartell Drugs announces plans for new store in Washington state
SEATTLE The nation’s oldest drug store chain, Bartell Drugs, is planning to open in fall 2009 a new store in Issaquah, Wash.
The new 16,407-square-foot store, which is expected to employ about 25 associates, will be located in Overlake Center at 5700 East Lake Sammamish Parkway.
“We have been working towards opening a location in Issaquah for a number of years,” said George Bartell, chairman and chief executive officer of the 56-store chain. “We’re very excited about his new location and look forward to serving the needs of the community.”
The new store will include a full-service pharmacy with drug-thru service, many natural and organic health, beauty and cleaning products, nutritional supplements, convenience foods, greetings cards and more.
The store will also feature Bartell’s PixPlus department, which offers print kiosks, a broader selection of camera and sound electronics, one-hour photo finishing and a passport photo center.
Family-owned for 118 years, Bartell Drugs currently operates 56 locations in King, Snohomish and Pierce counties.
