WASHINGTON — After many months of content development, web programming, and review, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has unveiled the new Get Smart: Know When Antibiotics Work web site.
The revamped web site is more intuitive and includes new content. It is also in responsive design, which means that it is mobile-friendly — automatically resizing itself to fit in phone and tablet screens.
The site features materials for both healthcare professionals and consumers. Some new sections include:
· Improving Prescribing, which provides information on outpatient stewardship and evidence-based interventions;
· Programs and measurement, which includes new information about data used to measure outpatient antibiotic prescribing and the latest national strategies and plans to address antibiotic resistance; and
· Social media messages and graphics, which offer sample Facebook and Twitter messages and ready-to-use images for social media or fact sheets.
