With an increased focus on its broad, vertically integrated product portfolio by industry professionals, pharmacists and patients, alike, Aurobindo has introduced a new label design that emphasizes clarity of message, a unique but replicable appearance, and easy-to-decipher details, the company told DSN.
Some notable label changes include:
A visually appealing design with Aurobindo’s colors and brand identity;
A clearly identified NDC number;
A color-coded block showcasing and differentiating the strength; and
A bar code for simple reading by UPC scanners.
According to the company, trade dress is a critically important issue for pharmacists, patients and professionals along the supply chain continuum and cannot be overstated. By creating easy-to-read and visually appealing labels, Aurobindo said it’s renewing its commitment to reducing both pharmacy preparation time and patient error.
The company plans a phased-in launch of the new label. The first products with the new labels will be unveiled in December. In other news, Aurobindo continues to add to its physical plant footprint, recently breaking ground on a 567,000-sq.-ft., state-of-the-art distribution and research facility in East Windsor, N.J. Additionally the company also has received a record number of FDA-approved ANDAs in the last 18 months, executives told DSN.
