Congress members report back to constituents about NACDS RxImpact Day
On the heels of The National Association of Chain Drug Stores recent RxImpact Day on Capitol Hill, Reps. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo. and Collin Peterson, D-Minn. have written to their constituents about their meetings with pharmacy advocates.
Rep. Cheney wrote to her constituents in a March newsletter, stating, “I want to thank Wyoming members of NACDS for meeting with me to discuss policy solutions to the opioid crisis in Wyoming and Medicare Part D reform.”
Rep. Peterson reported to his constituents on his meeting, which included NACDS board member and former chairman Bob Narveson, president and CEO of Thrifty White Pharmacy, saying, “Representatives from Thrifty White Pharmacy, as well as a student pharmacist, visited my Washington office as part of the NACDS Day on Capitol Hill. They talked with my staff about a number of issues impacting pharmacies and those they serve in the 7th District, including the pharmacy direct and indirect remuneration, or DIR fees. The group also discussed proposed legislation intended to help address the opioid crisis. It is critical that we support solutions to combat addiction, and I will continue to work to find ways to address this epidemic," he said.
