CVS begins holiday shopping promotions a week early
WOONSOCKET, R.I. CVS/pharmacy is getting a head start on the holidays by kicking off a week-long promotion offering shoppers a variety of deals before Black Friday.
From Nov. 23 throughout Nov. 29, shoppers can use their ExtraCare cards to take advantage of extra savings and rewards on gifts and holiday-related purchases, as well as everyday needs.
“As we move into what is an incredibly busy time of year for families, we want to give our customers an opportunity to shop for holiday values earlier than ever before,” said Mike Bloom, senior vice president of merchandising. “Knowing that our customers are looking to save both time and money, CVS/pharmacy offers one-stop holiday shopping for a variety of great gifts you would never expect to find at your local drug store.”
For example, as part of the promotion, the GPS Navigation System for Dummies, typically priced at $129.99, will cost $89.99 plus ExtraCare cardholders will receive $10 back in instant Extra Bucks; this equates to $50 in savings. Coby and TDE Digital Photo Frames will be marked down to $79.99 with an additional $20 rewarded in instant Extra Bucks for buyers.
Shoppers can also select from a variety of gift options essentially priced for less than $10, after instant Extra Bucks, which include Rival crock pots, Oster rice cookers and portable CD players.
For those shoppers looking online for bargains, the recently relaunched CVS.com site now includes an online Holiday Center.
Those shoppers who register their ExtraCare cards online now through Dec. 6 will receive triple ExtraCare Bucks for dollars spent on all non-pharmacy merchandise. Free shipping is available for all non-pharmacy orders of $49 or more.
