DSNTV: Innovation’s Jensen discusses clinical future of pharmacists
At the National Association of Chain Drug Stores Annual Meeting in April, Drug Store News caught up with Doyle Jensen, executive vice president of global business development at Johnson City, N.Y.-based Innovation. He discussed some of the key pressures facing pharmacies, how pharmacies can rethink the role of the pharmacist to remain relevant to patients and the role that automation can play in helping pharmacists play a larger clinical role.
“We continue to look for any type of technology that can further automate, further drive more cost out of the process,” he said. “In addition, we're unique in that we invent a lot of our technology and that comes as a direct result of input that's provided from the customers themselves. They have a need that's not being fulfilled and we have no qualms about investing our time, money and resources in developing a piece of technology they're trying to solve.”
