Familiprix adds 5 pharmacies to its network
Five pharmacies have joined Familiprix’s network of neighborhood health centers, the Canadian pharmacist-owned company announced recently. The pharmacies are located in the Quebec cities Coaticook, Amos, Baie-Saint-Paul and Carleton-sur-Mer.
The five pharmacies bring the total number of Familiprix locations to 388. The pharmacies, which operate under the Brunet banner, were among the pharmacies to which Jean Coutu Group waived its rights following its acquisition by Metro last April, Familiprix said, noting that its addition will grow its footprint in Quebec.
“Our business model meets the current and future needs of the market,” said Albert Falardeau, president of Familiprix. “We are pursuing our vision of growing our network of neighborhood pharmacies. We are very proud to be the only network of independently owned pharmacies that operates its own distribution center.
