FDA approves Aurobindo’s Tricor generic

Dayton, N.J. — Aurobindo Pharma announced Friday that the Food and Drug Administration had approved its generic Tricor (fenofibrate) tablets. The drug is indicated to treat high cholesterol and high triglycerides. 

 

Aurobindo’s fenofibrate tablets will be available in 48- and 145-mg dosage strength. The product had estimated U.S. sales of about $412.1 million for the twelve months ended March 2016, according to IMS Health.
