FDA approves FDC's generic Timoptic

MUMBAI, India FDC has received approval from the Food and Drug Administration for its application for timolol maleate ophthalmic solution, according to published reports.

The drug is the generic form of Merck’s glaucoma treatment Timoptic.

Besides timolol, the company has five more products in advanced stages of filing with the FDA including ciprofloxacin and ofloxacin ophthalmic solutions, which are used to treat bacterial infections, the company said.
