MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Through Dec. 7, Fred’s Pharmacy will be offering Medicare Part D plan comparisons and resources at its 371 locations, the company announced Tuesday.
“The most frequently asked questions about Medicare Part D are ‘should I enroll’ and ‘what are the costs,’” Fre’s COO Tim Liebmann, chief operating officer, pharmacy, fred’s Inc. “Our hometown pharmacists offer free and personalized Medicare Part D plan comparisons and are ready to assist individuals in selecting which plan is right for them, based on their current prescriptions.”
Pharmacists at Fred’s locations will be able to help currently enrolled Medicare Part D patients decide whether they’re enrolled in the right plan based on potential changes in prescription coverage, premiums, deductibles and out-of-pocket expenses. According to eHealth, patients who reviewed and switched their Part D plans saved, on average, $898 per year.
“You don’t have to be a current Fred’s Pharmacy patient to benefit from this free Medicare Part D plan comparison and you can walk away knowing your options,” Liebmann said.
