Frost & Sullivan: Retail health care market to hit $4 billion in 2022

6/9/2016

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. — Frost and Sullivan have released a report detailing the growth of retail health care, noting that the increasing number of retail clinics are offering convenience and cost-effectiveness to patients while providing new revenue streams for care providers.

The report projects that the global retail care market will hit $4 billion in 2022, up from $1.35 billion in revenue the market earned in 2015. The report also notes that rising healthcare costs and lack of access to primary care are part of what’s driving this growth, as well as rising premiums and higher deductibles among patients with health insurance.

“Future growth of retail clinics is connected to the success of initiatives aimed at patient satisfaction,” Frost & Sullivan transformational health research analyst Siddharth Shah said. “With increasing experience, retail players will expand their services portfolio and experiment with novel methods, such as product-service bundling, telemedicine integration and point of care technologies to enhance patient experience.”
