Galderma announces release of topical acne treatment gel
FORT WORTH, Texas Galderma Labs has announced the availability of a topical gel for treating acne.
The Food and Drug Administration approved Epiduox2122 Gel (adapalene and benzoyl peroxide) in December. Galderma calls it the first and only once-daily topical acne treatment that combines adapalene and benzoyl peroxide and expects it to reach pharmacy shelves during the first three months of this year.
“Both adapalene and benzoyl peroxide have extensive histories of efficacy in treating acne, and the data demonstrates that Epiduox2122 Gel has an even more powerful treatment effect than either monotherapy without compromising tolerability,” Henry Ford Hospital director of clinical research and division head of dermatology Linda Gold said in a statement.
