Genoa to open 2 pharmacies at southern New Mexico health centers

SILVER CITY, N.M. — Genoa is bringing its on-site pharmacy model to Hidalgo Medical Services, the only federally qualified health center serving two rural New Mexico counties, HMS announced recently. Genoa’s pharmacy, slated to open in April, will operate at the HMS clinic in Lordsburg, N.M., and will be the only full-service pharmacy in Hidalgo county, bringing services to some 5,000 residents. 

 

“HMS, in partnership with Genoa, is proud to offer our patients, clients, and the community of Hidalgo County a brand new, full-service pharmacy location at our Lordsburg Clinic,” HMS CEO Dan Otero said. “Under the discounted 340B pharmacy program, reduced rates on prescriptions may be available to qualified patients and clients. This new, on-site pharmacy at the HMS Lordsburg Clinic will offer our patients, clients, and community members the opportunity to conveniently balance their health needs with their busy lives.”

 

Genoa will be opening another on-site pharmacy on March 27 at the HMS Community Health Center in Silver City, the companies said. 

 

Genoa’s model focuses on on-site pharmacies that are tailored to the needs of the health center they are located in, working to be the provider of choice to their partners and patients. The company specializes in behavioral health, but can fill all medications and offer packaging options to fit patient needs and improve adherence.
