Glenmark gets FDA OK for generic Vytorin
Glenmark has received the Food and Drug Administration’s clearance for ezetimibe and simvastatin tablets in dosage strengths of 10 mg/10 mg, 10 mg/20 mg, 10 mg/40 mg, and 10 mg/80 mg.
The product is the generic of MSD International’s Vytorin tablets, 10 mg/10 mg, 10 mg/20 mg, 10 mg/40 mg, and 10 mg/80 mg.
It is used along with diet to lower the level of bad cholesterol (LDL); increase the level of good cholesterol (HDL); and lower the level of fat in the blood (triglycerides).
Vytorin tablets had a market value of approximately $92.4 million for the 12 month period ended April 2019, according to IQVIA.
