Justice Dept. queries Schering-Plough on ENHANCE study

KENILWORTH, N.J. Schering-Plough has been asked for information about the ENHANCE study it conducted on its cholesterol pill Vytorin, which it manufactures with Merck, by the Justice Department, according to Bloomberg.

Congress is also probing whether the companies did anything unethical or illegal in the handling of the study and marketing of the pill.

The company has received “requests for information” from an unspecified number of attorneys’ offices, it said late Tuesday in a quarterly regulatory filing. Schering-Plough has previously said it received subpoenas from several state attorneys general.
