Kantar, Nielsen join 'Vision 2027' at NACDS Total Store Expo

5/13/2016

ARLINGTON, Va. -- The National Association of Chain Drug Stores Total Store Expo has announced participants of its Vision 2027 attraction at the 2016 TSE, which will be held Aug. 6-9 at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center.

Four companies have already have confirmed their participation in “Vision 2027,” with additional announcements anticipated. Together, these companies will provide insights into the future of retailing and trading-partner collaboration, with a unique blend of technology, interactivity, and even celebrity.

“Vision 2027 contributes powerfully to one of the most frequently asked questions: ‘what will be new this year at the NACDS Total Store Expo?’” said NACDS President and CEO Steven C. Anderson, IOM, CAE. “The answer is always apparent in the new ideas, the new products and services and the new content presented at the NACDS Total Store Expo. We are excited about what the Vision 2027 participants will bring to this equation, and about the contributions of all the exhibitors and retailers.”

Some of the participants in Vision 2027 will include:

  • Li & Fung Business Intelligence: Led by Deborah Weinswig, executive director and head of global retail technology, the company will introduce 12-15 innovators that provide solutions for consumer goods, the pharmacy, clinics and patient engagement. Their insights will appeal to attendees interested in enhancing the shopping experience, engaging patients through omni-channel strategies, and optimizing data analytics and cloud computing. The company also will bring to Vision 2027 elements of the Li & Fung Innovation Center in Shanghai, highlighting some of the leading-edge retail technology companies that have demonstrated success.

  • Kantar Retail: The company will provide a view of what the “perfect shopper interaction of tomorrow” will look like. This aspect of Vision 2027 will deliver a forward-looking view at virtual reality’s power to serve up both retail environments and testing capabilities, and a view of the ways in which best-in-class companies will link analytics into compelling economic and shopper-centered solutions.

  • Nielsen: The company will showcase the Nielsen Marketing Cloud, and opportunities to deliver relevant marketing to customers across devices and content. The company will demonstrate the ability to integrate consumer and media data with world-class analytics and marketing activation solutions. The vision is to enable continuous marketing optimization across tactics so marketers can more efficiently drive bottom-line results.

  • Shark Branding: Entrepreneur, investor, author, speaker and television personality Daymond John will highlight opportunities for companies to grow as truly innovative and entrepreneurial enterprises – today and into the future. He also will participate in the popular "Meet the Market" program on Aug. 6.

The similarly named precursors of Vision 2027 consistently have drawn significant interest among attendees, as well as among local media. In 2015, when the NACDS Total Store Expo was held in Denver, the Denver Business Journal covered what was then known as Vision 2026 with an article titled “The drug store of the future is on display now at Denver convention.” Colorado Biz published a bylined article by NACDS titled “Health, Wellness and High-Tech.”

In 2014, when the NACDS Total Store Expo most recently was held in Boston, the Boston Business Journal reported on what was then known as Vision 2025, and WBZ NewsRadio 1030 – a CBS affiliate – also covered Vision 2025 extensively.

Accessible to all attendees, Vision 2027 will be open during the Exhibit Hall hours of the NACDS Total Store Expo.
