Kroger prepares for Little Clinic rollout

CINCINNATI Retail grocery chain Kroger has made a “significant” investment in retail clinic operator The Little Clinic that will support a clinic rollout.

Neither terms of the deal nor details of the rollout plan were disclosed.

The Little Clinic, which was founded in 2003, currently operates 26 walk-in medical clinics inside Kroger’s family of stores.

“We welcome Kroger as a shareholder and partner in building a leader in consumer healthcare. We share a commitment to deliver innovative, quality, affordable healthcare to consumers across the country,” stated Molly Ashby, founder and chief executive officer of Solera Capital and chairman of The Little Clinic.

Kroger operates nearly 2,500 supermarkets and multi-department stores in 31 states under two dozen banners including Kroger, Ralphs, Fred Meyer, Food 4 Less and Fry’s.
