Lilly launches Forteo injection device
INDIANAPOLIS Eli Lilly has begun marketing a device for injecting its drug Forteo, the company announced Wednesday.
Lilly said the Forteo Delivery Device was designed to make injection of the drug (teriparatide [rDNA origin]) easier. The Food and Drug Administration approved it in June.
Its features include a larger and wider body than the Forteo Pen, fewer steps to complete an injection with no priming necessary and color-coded parts to enhance patient training and communication. Lilly said it incorporated feedback from patients and healthcare professionals in designing the device.
