Little Clinic announces openings; partnerships with more retailers
BRENTWOOD, Tenn. The Little Clinic has been making some big changes over the last month.
On Sept. 15, the retail clinic operator announced that it had opened its 12th convenient care clinic in the Tampa, Fla., area, inside a Publix store.
It said other clinics were under construction. A month later, on Oct. 23, it announced that it had opened two more clinics in Florida Publix stores: one in Sunrise and one in Palmer Ranch, in the Sarasota area.
On Oct. 13—the same day it opened the Palmer Ranch clinic—it opened one at a Kroger store in Smyrna, Tenn., the fifth Little Clinic opened in Tennessee since December 2007. As in Florida, The Little Clinic said other clinics were under construction in the area.
“We are excited about The Little Clinic opening in our store,” Kroger store manager Rick Barber said in a statement. “I believe our customers and associates will really appreciate the convenience the clinic will offer them.”
Around the same time, it promoted Matt Salts to regional marketing manager for the clinics in Detroit and Columbus and Toledo, Ohio, where he would coordinate local marketing activities and oversee staff in those areas. Lisa Laub received a similar promotion and will oversee clinics in Tampa, Sarasota and Orlando, Fla.
The Little Clinic locations have licensed and board-certified advanced registered nurse practitioners or certified physician assistants. They have authorization to diagnose, treat and write prescriptions for common illnesses such as flu, ear infections, bronchitis, sinus infections and minor injuries, as well as perform physicals and other examinations and vaccinations.
