TORONTO — Canada Health Infoway and McKesson Canada announced Thursday that RelayHealth has achieved Infoway's Category II Uni-Directional Consumer Health Application certification.
"The Infoway certification process is designed to ensure that a digital health solution meets a prescribed set of standards, and we congratulate McKesson Canada for achieving certification for their RelayHealth consumer health application," said Trevor Hodge, EVP, Canada Health Infoway.
In order to achieve certification, RelayHealth underwent a process to demonstrate that it met or exceeded a series of predefined, domain-specific assessment criteria, ensuring it conforms to global and national standards for privacy, security and interoperability set by Infoway's Certification Services.
"The certification of RelayHealth is an important milestone for McKesson to further prove the system's significant capabilities as a reliable, secure and effective digital health solution in Canada," said George Attar, SVP, chief technology and information officer for McKesson Canada. "With more than 300,000 patients already benefitting from this innovative system, RelayHealth continues to demonstrate to health agencies across the country its value for both patients and healthcare providers alike."
RelayHealth is a Web-based service that enables a secure exchange of health information between patients and their healthcare providers, allowing them to share test results, book appointments and make electronic referrals.
