The Medicines Co. recalls lots of Cleviprex

PARSIPPANY, N.J. The Medicines Co. is expanding a voluntary recall of an injectable hypertension drug due to the possible presence of particulate matter, the drug maker announced Wednesday.

The company said it was recalling four lots of the drug Cleviprex (clevidipine butyrate).

The company said the visible particular matter comprises sub-visible, inert stainless steel particles. The particles have the potential to reduce blood flow, damage tissue, cause infections and reduce blood supply to organs.
