Medisca, FlavoRx partner on product roll out in Canada
Children and pets in Canada will find that their medicine tastes better, thanks to a collaboration between Medisca and FlavoRx that will bring FlavoRx's exclusive product offering to this new market.
The agreement is based on a three-year collaboration with FlavoRx in the US, for which Medisca holds exclusive distribution rights for the pharmaceutical compounding industry.
Many children have a difficult time swallowing capsules and chewing tablets or they have been prescribed commercial dosages that have an unpleasant taste. The FlavoRx pediatric line offers a wide range of flavors and combinations, which facilitates medication administration and improves outcomes, according to the company.
In addition, the FlavoRx Veterinary Flavors selection allows veterinarians to customize the taste of medications for animals.
“Patients, whether human or animal, are sensitive to the flavoring of medication. By providing Canadian compounding pharmacists and veterinarians with direct access to the full line of FlavoRx flavors, we are giving them the tools to offer a better customer experience, and increase medication adherence,” Panagiota Danopoulos, Medisca director of product development, said.
