11/28/2011

RALEIGH, N.C. — MedPro Rx president Nancy McFarlane won a Stevie Award for Best Entrepreneur, the specialty pharmacy provider said.

McFarlane won the award for the category of service businesses with up to 100 employers in the Stevie Awards for Women in Business, having led the company to multimillion-dollar sales over the past nine years, the company said. McFarlane founded the company in 2002.

The Stevie Awards for Women in Business recognizes women executives, entrepreneurs and the companies they run around the world. More than 1,300 entries were submitted this year for consideration in 75 categories.

The latest award adds to the list of recognitions the company has racked up over the last couple of months. Earlier this month, the Triangle Business Journal included MedPro in its list of the 50 fastest-growing companies in the North Carolina Research Triangle for the fourth year in a row. Last month, Business Leader Magazine gave McFarlane its 2011 Movers & Shakers Award.
