Michael Catanio honored with award by HDMA
ORLANDO, Fla. Bayer HealthCare Pharmaceuticals trade relations director Michael Catanio received the Nexus Award for Lifetime Achievement from the Center for Healthcare Supply Chain Research and biotechnology company Genentech at the Healthcare Distribution Management Association’s 2010 Business & Leadership Conference in Orlando, Fla., the HDMA announced.
The award is designed to recognize recipients’ achievements and service in the healthcare industry. The HDMA said Catanio had developed a number of ways to bring together participants in the supply chain, including a program designed to educate pharmacy students about the healthcare supply chain.
“Mike lives up to the very meaning of the word ‘Nexus,’” HDMA president and CEO John Gray said. “Few in the industry are as skillful as he at forging connections with industry colleagues and trading partners across the supply chain. People at all levels of the pharmaceutical industry respect his depth of knowledge and admire his generosity of time and spirit.”
Prior to working at Bayer, Catanio worked in trade relations for Berlex Labs and Bergen Bruswig Corp.
“The center and Genentech Inc. are proud to recognize Mr. Catanio’s career achievements,” Center for Healthcare Supply Chain Research EVP and COO Karen Ribler said. “His career accomplishments and innovative solutions embody the principles of industry and community leadership.”
