Mithridion, Cognitive Pharmaceuticals announce merger
MADISON, Wis. Two pharmaceutical companies specializing in drugs to treat cognitive disorders are merging.
Madison, Wis.-based Mithridion and Toledo. Ohio-based Cognitive Pharmaceuticals announced the merger Thursday. The new company will take Mithridion’s name and have preclinical drug research laboratories in Madison and do discovery and development in Toledo.
The company will begin trials of MCD-386, which is designed to prevent brain cell death in patients with Alzheimer’s disease and improve mental functioning.
