Mylan, Dr. Reddy’s launch generic versions of Namenda

HYDERABAD, India and PITTSBURGH — Both Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories and Mylan have launched their generic versions of Namenda (memantine hydrochloride tablets), which the Food and Drug Administration recently approved. Both companies will have the drug available in 5- and 10-mg tablets.

Namenda, which IMS Health says brought in about $1.4 billion in sales for the 12 months ending March 31, is indicated for the treatment of dementia related to Alzheimer’s disease.
