Mylan launches generic Orapred ODT

PITTSBURGH — Mylan on Thursday announced the launch of prednisolone sodium phosphate orally disintegrating tablets in 10-mg, 15-mg and 30-mg dosage strengths. 

 

The drug is the generic version of Orapred ODT from Shionogi, and is used as an anti-inflammatory or immunosuppressive agent for certain conditions. Mylan also added that the drug also is used to treat some endocrine conditions, and for palliation of certain neoplastic conditions.

 

Prednisolone sodium phosphate orally disintegrating tablets had sales in the United States of $19.9 million for the 12 months ending Sept. 30, according to data from IMS Health.
