NAHSE congratulates Obama following election

11/10/2008

WASHINGTON A professional organization representing black and minority healthcare business executives congratulated Barack Obama on his election as president Monday.

The National Association of Health Services Executives called healthcare reform “the single most critical issue facing not only African-Americans and other minorities but all Americans today,” second only to the economy.

“We are confident that healthcare reform will continue to be at the forefront as one of the single most important issues that President-elect Barack Obama will address during his presidency,” NAHSE executive director Charlisa Watson said in a statement. “With 45 million Americans uninsured, healthcare reform has never been more needed in this country as it is today, considering the economic crisis and fallout that we are all facing.”
