IRVINE, Calif. — Cloud-based services company PrescribeWellness and the Federation of Pharmacy Networks announced Wednesday that they would be expanding their 3-year-old partnership. The expansion will bring PrescribeWellness’ Medicare plan comparison software, PrescribeMedicare, to FPN’s network of pharmacy groups and their member pharmacies.
“We’ve had a tremendous partnership with the Federation of Pharmacy Networks and many of their member groups,” PrescribeWelnnes VP marketing and industry relations Jay Williams said. “We are excited about the launch of PrescribeMedicare and believe it’s a powerful tool that can help pharmacies offer a new service to their Medicare patients and better manage this important group of patients.”
PrescribeMedicare lets pharmacists automatically upload a patient’s current prescriptions from their pharmacy and then provides a forecast of monthly and yearly costs for the patient. PrescribeWellness said its software can help improve customer loyalty for pharmacies, generate additional revenue and provide extended services through the appoint-based model.
“It’s vital that our community pharmacies offer Medicare plan evaluations for their seniors,” FPN CEO Carol Carlson said. “We believe that our pharmacies have the ability to build loyalty and trust by engaging their patients and helping them to navigate through the Medicare Part D annual selection process. We were looking for a partner that could help us affordably and effectively provide a Medicare plan comparison tool to our member groups and their pharmacies. We found that with PrescribeWellness.”
