PrescribeWellness intros VRxAssist

PrescribeWellness, fresh off its acquisition of VoicePort’s pharmacy-related assets, has introduced a new tool for pharmacies who might need an extra hand to expand their services. The Irvine, Calif.-based company’s VRxAssist offers a virtual staff solution that it said can help support pharmacies who want to offer more services, optimize their performance on quality measures and improve their workflow.

“Community pharmacies can no longer rely on dispensing revenue and find themselves in a Catch-22: They need additional staff to capitalize on new and emerging payment models but can’t justify the expense until the revenue has started coming in,” said Al Babbington, CEO of PrescribeWellness. “VRxAssist provides the business intelligence, advanced analytics and virtual staff they need to go ‘beyond the fill,’ serving their patients, improving care and capitalizing on current and emerging revenue opportunities.”

The service provides pharmacies the help of pharmacists, technicians and marketing experts from a central location, services that PrescribeWellness said can support expanded offerings and more time for patient care. The virtual staff is meant to serve as an extension of a pharmacy practice, working with a location on patient communication, medication synchronization, immunization offerings, expended web and social media management and care plan reviews.

Clinical support functions include med sync enrollment, phone outreach to patients turning 65 years old, identifying immunization opportunities for patients and targeting and enrolling patients in educational campaigns on such topics as diabetes management, opioid counseling and smoking cessation. VRxAssist also offers operations support for opportunity analysis reports, monthly business reports that highlight actionable patient actions and success metrics, DIR mitigation plans and outreach to transferred and abandoned patients. Additionally, it offers support for such marketing efforts as local media research and planning, public relations and press release writing, special events planning, direct mail campaigns, social media management and more.
