Publix names new pharmacy VP
Publix has tapped a pharmacy veteran from Albertsons as its new vice president of pharmacy. Dain Rusk, most recently group vice president of pharmacy for Albertsons, will join the Lakeland, Fla.-based retailer, effective June 1, to oversee its pharmacy retail operations, as well as its pharmacy central fill, specialty pharmacy and managed care programs.
At Albertsons, Rusk was responsible for all of its pharmacy operations, including corporate operations support and business development, specialty pharmacy and clinical efforts. In addition to his experience at Albertsons, Rusk has previously served as vice president of pharmacy for Giant Food.
“Dain brings extensive experience in operating retail pharmacies as well as building relationships with healthcare systems,” Publix president and CEO Todd Jones said. “With pharmacy being such an important part of our business, we’re excited to have him join our Publix family.”
