CHICAGO — Strategic Solutions Network’s fourth annual MTM and Medication Adherence Innovations Summit brought some 70 healthcare professionals and industry leaders together recently to discuss how best to improve patient adherence.
Among the participants were representatives from such companies as Walmart, ExpressScripts and OutcomesMTM, a Cardinal Health company. Also participating was QS/1 market analyst senior manager Ed Vess, who offered input into pharmacy’s role in medication management and improving patient outcomes.
“Pharmacists play a clear and vital role in adherence,” Vess said. “We want to make sure QS/1 is looking out for the interests of community pharmacy during these discussions. Everyone involved in healthcare needs to have a voice in this important discussion. It’s imperative for everyone to share their input so the solutions incorporate everyone and have a positive impact on the patient’s outcomes.”
