SPARTANBURG, S.C. — Pharmacy software solutions company QS/1 is looking to make it easier for patients at its customer pharmacies to access their services, rolling out its new PocketRx smartphone app that was created in partnership with Praeses.
“PocketRx is fully customizable,” said Amy Long, QS/1’s manager of HealthCare and Database Services. “Everything about PocketRx, including the application icon, is branded with the pharmacy’s logo.”
The app, which works on devices running both Android and iOS operating systems, can be set up to communicate with a pharmacy, and customers create a profile. Their identity is verified and they can manually enter refill information or scan the prescription bottle’s barcode. It can also show pharmacy information and let patients call directly from the app.
“The interface with the PocketRx smartphone application and the pharmacy’s QS/1 system ensures requested refills go to the proper queue for immediate processing,” Long added.
