Regional pharmacy chain, foundation team up to raise funds for child care

MIAMI Navarro Discount Pharmacies, a 28-store chain based here, has teamed up with Centro Mater Foundation to help raise funds for single parents and low-income families who need assistance in covering the cost of child care.

Centro Mater is a nonprofit organization that provides education and care for children from six weeks to 12 years of age. The organization was founded in 1969 and currently has five centers in Miami-Dade County.

Through the alliance, more than 200 Centro Mater collection boxes will be placed at checkout counters in Navarro pharmacies throughout Miami Dade. One hundred percent of the funds collected at Navarro Discount Pharmacies will go directly to meet the needs of single parents and low-income families who need assistance in covering the cost of child care.

In addition to raising funds, Navarro will help Centro Mater build awareness.
