Rite Aid helps prepare Southeastern seaboard for landfall of Hanna

9/5/2008

CAMP HILL, Pa. Rite Aid stores throughout Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina have stocked up on emergency supplies to help residents get ready for Tropical Storm Hanna—the storm is currently projected to make landfall along the South Carolina coast at around 2 a.m. Saturday.

All Rite Aid stores in those states have increased supplies of bottled water, batteries, flashlights, canned foods, coolers, charcoal, film, disposable cameras, bleach, latex gloves and other emergency provisions. Residents in the potential storm path should heed their local municipal warnings and prepare accordingly for safety, the company announced Friday.

Rite Aid has already set up storm command posts for Georgia/South Carolina and also North Carolina. To account for the safety of its associates, the company also has set up toll-free numbers for its associates to call in and provide their locations and contact numbers if they are evacuated. For associates in Georgia and South Carolina, the hotline is 877-435-7204. For associates in North Carolina, the hotline is 877-435-3135.
