9/22/2008

BENTONVILLE, Ark. Sam’s Club has pledged to offer flu shots to both its club members and non-club members to communities prepare for the winter flu season.

Five hundred and three Sam’s Club stores across the United States will offer $20 flu shots on Fridays and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. beginning Oct. 11 and running until Nov. 14.

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention has said that the flu shot is the best way to prevent getting the illness.

“Sam’s Club understands how difficult it can be to lose days or even weeks sick in bed.

In recognition of our Members' health and shortages on the vaccination in years past, we're proud to be offering a quick and easy way to obtain flu shots and stay on track with busy lifestyles,” Sam’s Club Health and Wellness vice president Todd Matherly said.

Those club members over age 18 coming in for flu shots will also receive from Sam's Club a Winter Wellness booklet and health packet containing various sample health supplements.
