Sanofi Aventis debuts pre-filled insulin pen in India
CHANDIGARH, India Sanofi-Aventis has made a new disposable, pre-filled insulin pen available to diabetes patients in select Indian cities, the company announced May 16.
Known as SoloSTAR, the pen treats hyperglycemia associated with type 1 and type 2 diabetes. It is designed for portability and ease of use, and will be available for patients in Chandigarh, Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh, according to the company.
Aventis Pharma Limited senior director Sushell Umesh said the pen is the result of more than four years of intensive research and development based on inputs from diabetic patients, their nurses and doctors.
