Sanofi Pasteur spends $100 million on research facility
TORONTO Sanofi Pasteur, a vaccine manufacturer, has announced plans to expand its research and development facility in Toronto.
According to published reports, the company is planning to spend $100 million for the expansion, using $80 million for the new facility and the rest toward development equipment and specialized research.
Sanofi Pasteur is a vaccine division of Sanofi-Aventis Group, which is based in France. According to published reports the company makes vaccines to prevent polio, tetanus, diphtheria, meningitis, influenza and other illnesses. The new expansion, according to the company, will boost innovation in vaccine research, but it has not yet mentioned how many jobs will be created as a result.
