10/3/2013

DEERFIELD, Ill. — In preparation for flu season, actress Amanda Peet, ambassador of the UN Foundation's Shot@Life program, received her annual flu shot at Walgreens' flagship store in New York City to support its "Get a Shot, Give a Shot" campaign.

As a mother, actress and ambassador to the UN Foundation's Shot@Life program, Peet spoke about the importance of providing life-saving vaccinations to children in need across the globe.

Walgreens has partnered with the UN Foundation's Shot@Life campaign to provide up to 3 million vaccines to children in need to help protect against such diseases as measles, pneumonia, polio and rotavirus. From now through Oct. 14, Walgreens will donate the value of one life-saving vaccine to children in developing countries for every flu shot or other vaccine administered at its pharmacies, or Healthcare clinic or Duane Reade pharmacy across the country.
