Stater Bros. to offer free diabetes drugs at select locations
SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. Supermarket chain Stater Bros. will mark National Diabetes Awareness Month by offering free diabetes drugs at more than two dozen of its stores, the company said Monday.
The 167-store chain said it would offer diabetes medications for free at its 27 Stater Bros. Super Rx Pharmacies beginning this month. The medications include metformin, glimepiride, glipizide and glyburide, all generic medicines used to treat Type 2 diabetes. The pills will be available in various strengths in bottles of up to 100 pills.
“Stater Bros. has a long-standing history of giving back to the communities it serves, and we believe in doing the right thing for the right reason,” company chairman and CEO Jack Brown said in a statement.
