Study highlights Remind-a-Cap's adherence impact

5/20/2016

NEW YORK — A new report from Remind-a-Cap is highlighting the device’s impact on patient adherence. The cap, which shows patients when to take their next dose, had its efficacy examined among 263 records at two Benzer Pharmacy locations in Florida and one in North Carolina.

The study found an overall average increase in adherence to 30-day medication of 8.7% over the course of six months. The bump in adherence translated to fewer days between refills across ages and conditions — about four fewer days on average between refills, translating to about 1.42 more refills per year.

The study also surveyed patients, with 80.3% saying they made Remind-a-Cap part of their daily routine after receiving it at the pharmacy and 88.9% saying they recommend the pharmacy that provided it after using Remind-a-Cap. One hundred percent said they felt the pharmacy cared more about their health after receiving Remind-a-Cap.

“The results speak volumes about the effectiveness of a relatively simple device, and suggest the potential Remind-a-Cap has to help millions of Americans comply with their prescription medication regimens,” the company’s EVP and operations director Matt Ramoundos said.
