Study says plenty adults get recommended daily exercise
NEW YORK A report released online by health journal BMC Public Health last week said that a study of adults in Sweden showed that many of them got enough exercise per day from working and playing to meet recommended amounts.
The study examined the activity of 1,470 people aged 18 to 74 and found that 63 percent of those people met the required minimum of at least 30 minutes of moderate activity per week day. The study measure all types of activity, from housework to manual labor to exercise and work-out routines.
Researchers working on the study said that dedicated exercise, such as jogging or swimming, a couple times a week might not be enough for better overall health.
The report also found that persons with less than college level education were more active than those who were college educated, and adults under 35 were more active than older persons.
