Supervalu debuts new pharmacy software system

MINNEAPOLIS Supervalu has launched a new unified software system for its pharmacies.

The company expects all stores to have the ARx system installed by the end of February to replace four separate systems it’s been using for pharmacy orders. ARx will provide a single platform for insurance claims and pharmacy workflow management along with new technology like electronic prescribing.

The launch is part of Supervalu’s effort to centralize its network of more than 900 pharmacies following its 2006 acquisition of Albertson’s and its Osco and Sav-on chains.
