Take Care signs deal for Epocrates' online medical reference

SAN MATEO, Calif. Take Care Health Systems, which is owned by Walgreens, has inked a multi-year deal with Epocrates for use of its online medical reference.

Epocrates offers a Web-based drug and formulary reference that provides access to information for more than 3,300 drugs, including adult and pediatric dosing; contraindications and cautions; a drug interaction checker; pill pictures; patient education handouts and health plan coverage.

More than 500,000 health care professionals, including 1-in-4 physicians, use Epocrates’ mobile and Web-based products to help them reduce medical errors, improve patient care and increase productivity.
