LONDON — Technavio on Tuesday published its report on the global generic drugs market, which highlights 49 vendors expected to impact the market between 2016 and 2020. In addition to highlighting such challenges facing the generics market as its fragmented nature, price pressure and regulatory constraints, among others, the report also identifies six companies expected to be making the biggest impact on the market in the next five years.
The companies Technavio identified were:
Teva;
Sandoz;
Allergan;
Mylan
Sun Pharmaceuticals; and
STADA Arzneimittel.
“Following the increase in product extensions, technological innovations, and an increase in the number of mergers and acquisitions, the competition in the market is expected to intensify,” Technavio analyst Imran Mushtaq said. “Top pharmaceutical companies adopting [the strategies in the report] can grow significantly during the forecast period and increase their revenue.”
