Thrifty White earns 2 ACHC specialty accreditations

6/15/2018
Thrifty White Pharmacy has received two accreditations from the Accreditation Commission for Health Care. ACHC granted its Specialty Pharmacy accreditation to the Plymouth, Minn.-based company’s central specialty pharmacy, as well as its Specialty at Retail accreditation to the chain’s 100 community pharmacy locations.

Thrifty White said that for the past five years, it has been focused on expanding its specialty pharmacy offerings, using a model that leverages specialized expertise in addition to its community pharmacy locations. The company offers local specialty medication pickup, specialized counseling and device training at its locations, as well as home delivery service to all 50 states.

“Adding ACHC Central Specialty and Specialty at Retail accreditations further validates our comprehensive specialty pharmacy model and support program,” said Jeremy Faulks Thrifty White’s director of specialty pharmacy. “We are now one of only a select few specialty pharmacies with three accreditations, further proving our commitment to delivering quality care and a better solution for patients who value their local pharmacist relationship.”

In the past three years, Thrifty White’s specialty pharmacy has delivered growth rates that the company said exceed three times industry averages. It also has seen proportion of days covered adherence scores exceed 92% among specialty patients in the last 12 months, Thrifty White said.

“We are excited to receive specialty pharmacy accreditation from ACHC,” Thrifty White president and CEO Bob Narveson said. “Thrifty White continues to innovate, creating industry-changing solutions which lead to better outcomes and lower healthcare costs. This accreditation is another example of how we are 100% committed to delivering the best patient care.”
