UCB's new epilepsy drug available in pharmacies by June
ATLANTA A new drug for treating epilepsy will be available in pharmacies starting in June, the drug’s manufacturer said.
UCB announced Tuesday that the drug Vimpat C-V (lacosamide) will be available starting in the first week of next month, following its approval by the Food and Drug Administration in the fall. The FDA approved the drug as an add-on therapy for treating partial-onset seizures in patients 17 and older.
The drug will be available in 50-mg, 100-mg, 150-mg and 200-mg strengths.
