CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
last week received a $100 million commitment to the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy from alumni Fred Eshelman, founder and CEO of Pharmaceutical Product Development and founding chairman of Furiex Pharmaceuticals.
The donation is the largest from an individual in the university's history and the largest that's ever been donated to a pharmacy school in the United States. It will be used to create a center within the pharmacy school named the Eshelman Institute for Innovation.
