University of Maryland School of Pharmacy names atrium in honor of graduate following $1.1 million donation

BALTIMORE — The University of Maryland's School of Pharmacy has named its atrium in honor of a graduate who now leads an institutional pharmacy services company.

The university unveiled the Ellen H. Yankellow Grand Atrium last week, after the president and CEO of Correct Rx Pharmacy Services. The reception, at which Yankellow was present, was in recognition of her recent gift of $1.1 million to the school, the largest gift ever from a female graduate, and included the unveiling of a new sign bearing her name. Yankellow graduated from the school in 1973 and received her doctor of pharmacy degree in 1996.

"Tonight, we recognize and show our extreme gratitude to Ellen for her generosity to the School of Pharmacy," dean Natalie Eddington said. "We will unveil a visible reminder to all who enter this space of what it means to be a philanthropist and of what it means to give back to an institution that is so proud of you."
