Weis Markets initiates 90-day supplies of generic drugs for $9.99

SUNBURY, Pa. Weis Markets will offer 90-day generic drugs supplies—covering more than 350 different prescriptions—for $9.99.

Weis has brought the discounted prescription drug deal to 59 of its stores pharmacies in across Pennsylvania, in such markets as the Poconos, Scranton and Wilkes-Barre, as well as to stores in New Jersey and Elmira, N.Y. The discounted prescription drugs are now available in 118 Weis Market pharmacies chainwide.

“Our 90-day generic prescription plan offers the best of both worlds: low prices in a full service retail pharmacy, where patients overwhelming prefer to have their prescriptions filled,” Jeff Maltese, Weis Markets’ vice president of pharmacy said. “Pharmacists in the retail setting are uniquely positioned to offer personal pharmaceutical care and medication management, something that’s difficult to do with mail order.”
